DELTARUNE Chapters 3 & 4 spoilers ahead!
I promise I have an actual post ready soon. But I need somewhere to talk about this. I'm gonna go crazy.
My FRIEND obsession's only gotten worse. I've been nonstop retweeting posts about them and making theories and thinking about them in my head. I'm so so enthralled by how much they appear, and the hints to them in-game. I'm so confused about what their deal is with the shelter/Egg man/Noelle/Dess and Kris. The mainstream theory as of right now is that they were an entity created by the Egg man and inserted into Noelle's copy of Cat Petterz (Why?!) as an Egg, which FRIEND hatched from later, probably like a cacophany of all the different Cat Petters mods she has. Then it like, escaped from the game and led Dess and Kris to the shelter ('Lost where the forest would grow, the children followed the pointed tail', and 'THEY'LL SEE THE TAIL OF HELL CRAWL' (which is very similar to how Catz (actual game)'s sprites look), and made Dess disappear, and traumatized Kris forever. Then they like got therapy from Egg man?? The guy who traumatized them?? And he's like a piece of Gaster but the ANOTHER HIM voice hates him for some reason and I'm like ughhhh what the hell is going on
This post explains it pretty well but I'm still like. confused as all hell. How did all of that happen. And how does Mike fit into all this? I think they're FRIEND but like why's he working with Tenna? Is it simply a cover and they're simply some weird shapeshifting entity or is it something else? We'll know in 2026 I guess. I'll probably stay fueled by FRIEND theories until then, it's been a month and I'm still insane. And showing FRIEND in that chapter 3 cutscene means they're now an unavoidable part of the game?? What is Tony planning???????
Anyway, go watch this it's a banger; the imagery makes me so so excited for the inevitable FRIEND fight. The whole thing with Rare Cats, all the motifs in the fan-made song... It's absolute peak I fear. If FRIEND appears in Noelle's probable future dark world I might die actually. I might not survive that.
